Darren Milnes has over 25 years of local experience of providing Structural Calculations and solutions in the domestic housing market for extensions,
alterations, conversions and new build.
We pride ourselves on quick simple solutions to allow projects to progress
without delay. Calculations and details will be emailed to all parties as a PDF file. Much of our work is gained as a result of a fast turnaround, which is crucial in today's market. Our aim is to provide the client, where practical, their
requirements within the restraints required of The British Standards.

Conceptual Design
Structural stability is our ultimate responsibility and this has to be achieved in the most cost effective manner, containing structural members within the desired fabric of the Architects design, whilst not compromising Health and Safety issues
Analysis and Design
Analysing and designing structural members / schemes ranging from one beam in an extension to large scale new build dwellings.
Designing in masonry, steel, concrete and timber from conception through to completion including gaining Building Regulation approval, post contract
involvement, liaising with Contractors, Architects etc
Materials
We have substantial experience and knowledge with the use of the four main
materials, as described above, theoretical and practical through worked based learning over the past 25 years.
Environment
Recycling and sustainability issues now form part of life in general, which we carry forward into our work environment and everyday thinking. We work closely with Architects, Mechanical and Electrical consultants within the design team, to produce the most cost effective, sustainable and efficient solutions to our projects.
We promote the use of timber where possible structurally and lime mortars, which have better movement qualities.
Construction
We are happy to deal with queries post contract in relation to the Building Regulation details already provided. If these cannot be resolved via email or
telephone, then a site visit will be undertaken if deemed necessary.

We carry £1,000,000 PI insurance, policy certificate is available on request
Health and Safety
We fully comply with the Construction, Design and Management regulations, which form part of our early thinking in all projects. Our calculations include a risk assessment relevant to the nature of the project, build ability considerations and in particular temporary works requirement for new openings in existing walls.
